this website
this site exists for several reasons...
[1] a person I respect, who is a member of a community I love, encouraged people to start a blog. his reasoning seemed solid and it coincided with a newfound desire to write about and share the things I care about.
[2] I made a somewhat significant change in my life at the start of this year and I’d like to examine and share about both the why and the what of that change in a public way. I’ve been writing group emails to friends and family so far, but I feel I can open this up further.
[3] as a function of the change I made, I left my home of thirty years, a place that has interesting (at least to me) local and national problems, for a new home in a place that has interesting (at least to me) local and national problems. I want to examine this.
this isn’t meant to be a massively wordy blog (although I make no promises that it won’t be on occasion), nor is it supposed to be a way to present my value to others (it is not a portfolio).
this is place for my aspirations and occasional desperations.
